Why StuartLocal exists

Less searching. More living locally.

Local information is usually scattered across maps, calendars, social posts, business websites, and word of mouth. StuartLocal organizes those pieces around a simple question: what can I actually do nearby?

The goal is not to replace official sources. It is to help people compare options, understand distance, and build a realistic next step—then confirm important details with the organization responsible for them.

Our information standards

How a listing earns its place.

“Verified” means StuartLocal checked specific source information. It does not mean every detail can never change.

01

Identity and location

Physical places need a public identity, address, and usable map coordinates. Service-area businesses are not presented as fake storefronts.

02

Source and status

Official or reputable public sources support important details. Events, offers, and jobs carry dates or status checks so expired information can leave live discovery.

03

Practical context

Where available, listings connect hours, contact details, accessibility notes, prices, or application paths. Missing information is not silently invented.

04

Corrections and review

Residents and organizations can report an error. Ownership claims and material changes are reviewed before public information is altered.

See something wrong? Use Contact StuartLocal or the “Report a problem” control. For a business listing, use the claim option on its detail page so ownership can be verified.

Trust and transparency

Know what influenced what you see.

Commercial relationships, member opinions, and planning estimates are different things. StuartLocal keeps those roles separate.

Advertising is labeled

Paid visibility is marked Sponsored or Advertisement where people encounter it—not hidden only on this page. Advertisers remain responsible for their claims, prices, offers, and destination pages.

Editorial picks are not for sale

A StuartLocal Pick is an editorial designation. Paying for an ad or profile does not buy that label, a favorable review, or an artificially higher member rating.

Reviews are member opinions

Reviews should describe truthful firsthand experiences. Businesses may dispute a review, but payment does not decide the moderation outcome.

Plans are estimates

Recommendations, routes, schedules, travel times, and spending ranges are planning aids. They are not reservations, live traffic reports, safety inspections, or promises of availability.

People and privacy

Designed to collect less.

The full Privacy Notice explains what is stored, why it is used, how long it may be retained, and how to request eligible access, correction, export, or deletion.

Your location

StuartLocal does not publish a visitor’s starting location. Address lookup and routing may use the map services described in the Privacy Notice; opening a route in an outside map sends route locations to that provider.

Cookies and measurement

Necessary storage supports security and saved preferences. Optional analytics and advertising measurement stay off unless you choose them. Cookie choices can be reopened from the footer.

Adults-only accounts

Family and kids content is written for adults planning outings. You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a StuartLocal account, submit reviews or messages, or use other member features. Parent or guardian permission does not make anyone under 18 eligible—there are no exceptions.

Accessible alternatives

StuartLocal aims toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA practices. List views, listing pages, and direct support provide alternatives where a third-party interactive map is difficult to use.

Help improve StuartLocal

Local knowledge works better when corrections are easy.

Send a current source, report a problem, claim a business listing, or ask a privacy, accessibility, or partnership question.
